Job summary

Ethan Allen in Maiden, NC is seeking an upholsterer/trim technician to move frames via transfer carts, apply foam, fabric and leather, and ensure a high-quality finish. You will use pneumatic tools and hand tools to shape and secure materials across multiple frame styles.

The role requires careful attention to detail, steady hands, and the ability to work along a production line with varying tasks. Training on specific equipment will be provided onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience operating upholstery equipment and pneumatic tools.
• Ability to trim excess fabric and smooth seams for a finished look.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer cart to move assembled frame from conveyor to upholstery lift.
• Operate pneumatic staple gun to attach fabric/leather to the frame.
• Cut excess filler material with a box cutter.
• Pull and stretch fabric/leather to ensure a proper fit while stapling.
• Smooth out seams and tuck fabric using a regulator for a crisp finish.
• For tufted frames, use button needle to stitch buttons and twine through fabric, then staple to back of frame.
• Trim excess fabric around finished wood using a box cutter, ensuring clean edges.
• Attach plygrip to frame edges with pneumatic staple gun and tuck fabric with regulator.
• Roll fabric edges with tack band and secure to frame with rubber mallet.
• Assist with non-routine assignments as instructed.
