Job summary

Symbiotic Services in Conover, NC, seeks an upholstery specialist to fabricate fabric and leather furniture from frame to finish. You will follow production instructions, match materials to frames, and secure components with staple guns, drills, and air tools, performing quality inspections along the way.

Qualifications

• Must be able to physically perform repetitive tasks for long shifts.
• Ability to inspect and correct stitching, seams and leather/fabric defects.

About You and the Role:

Pay:

$18–$20/hr - Starting Pay

Primary Responsibilities:

Upholster fabric and leather furniture

Secure materials using staple guns, air ratchets, and drills

Match cover materials to appropriate furniture frames

Upholster all frame components according to specifications

Read and follow production instructions, including details such as leg color, welt, tack, springs, and other custom requirements

Correct defects such as crooked seams or staple inconsistencies

Perform visual quality inspections on completed work

Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Essential Job Functions:

Frequently lift furniture ranging from 10–75 lbs

Occasional bending, pushing, and pulling

Frequent overhead reaching while operating a 10 lb air gun

Continuous standing for 8–10 hour shifts

Must be able to safely use air tools including:

• Air racket
• Drill
• Blower
• Ability to work with welt on frontpost.
• Ability to assemble frame and ormechanisms to the frames as required.
• Ability to inspect work as beingupholstered and this includes sewing mistakes and bad leather or fabric.
• Physical strength to pull hardmaterials onto the frame for long periods of time
• Must check seams and quality when apiece is complete.
