Indiana Furniture in Jasper, IN is seeking an Upholsterer to join our team. You will upholster chairs independently, pleat and tuft, and handle heavy lifting up to 75 lbs.

A minimum of 1 year upholstery experience is required, along with proficiency in staple guns, screw guns and general hand tools. After training, you must maintain a minimum of 75% efficiency, have a keen eye for detail, and scan chair tags to capture upholstery time data.

Competenze

• Minimum 1 year prior upholstery experience.
• Able to upholster entire chair independently.
• Able to pleat and tuft chairs.
• Able to work with staple guns, screw guns and hand tools.
• Must maintain a minimum of 75% efficiency after training.
• Good eye for detail is REQUIRED.
• Must scan chair tags to capture upholstery time data.
• Inspect products for defects and verify conformance to specs.
• Must work production schedules including mandatory overtime.

• Uphold upholstering of chairs independently from start to finish.

• Cut or trim fabric or leather as required.
• Inspect and repair fabric defects or tears.
• Perform self-inspection of completed chairs before finish.

Description

All employees must wear safety glasses at all times. (Non-prescription safety glasses will be provided by Indiana Furniture.) Hearing protection and work gloves are available upon request. Individuals accepting job assignments with Indiana Furniture must be able to work during scheduled work hours on a regular basis.

Upholsterer :

• Ability to upholster the entire chair independently
• A minimum of 1 year prior experience in upholstery
• Able to pleat and tuft chairs
• Requires heavy lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Able to work independently
• Knowledge of how to utilize staple guns, screw guns and general hand tools
• After training period must be able to maintain a minimum of 75% efficiency
• Good eye for detail is REQUIRED
• Must scan chair tags in and out to capture upholstery time data
• Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
• Inspect products or materials for damage, defects or shortages
• Cut or trim fabric or leather
• Recognize characteristics of cloth or fabric
• Repair tears or defects in fabrics
• Must do self-inspection of completed chair before completion of chair
• Must be responsible for turning in production time sheet daily
• Must be able to work production schedules including mandatory overtime
