SPECTRA TECH seeks a Lead Facility Safety Engineer to provide nuclear facility safety support at the Y-12 National Security Complex for DOE facilities. The role requires expertise in hazard identification, screening, evaluation, and selection of engineering/administrative controls, with documentation in safety analyses and technical safety requirements.
The candidate will address DOE-standards and Defense Nuclear Facility SafetyBoard issues, and serve as a lead engineer in Complexes 9212 or
The subcontractor shall provide nuclear facility safety technical support services for the management of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-1189-2008.
The Subcontractor shall have demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
The subcontractor shall also be familiar with technical issues raised by the United States Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities.
The subcontractor shall have the experience and background to serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
