Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking a Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer for the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. The role focuses on safety analysis, hazard evaluation, and compliance with DOE standards, including mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• BS Degree plus 15 or more years of direct experience with 10 or more years of DOE-specific experience Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering.
• Experience and background to serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
• Familiarity with technical issues raised by the United States Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; accident and consequence analysis; controls selection; and safety requirements documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nuclear facility safety technical support for DOE facilities at Y-12 in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and DOE standards.
• Train and mentor less experienced Facility Safety Engineers.
• Lead hazard analyses and safety basis documentation.
