Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Lead Facility Safety Engineer to provide nuclear safety technical support for DOE facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

The role requires demonstrated expertise in hazard identification, screening, evaluation, accident/consequence analysis, and the selection of engineered and administrative controls, with documentation in safety analyses and technical safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with hazard identification, screening and evaluation.
• Experience with accident/consequence analysis.
• Experience documenting safety analyses and technical safety requirements.
• Familiarity with DNFSB issues relating to DOE facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
• Provide nuclear facility safety technical support for DOE facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job description

The subcontractor shall provide nuclear facility safety technical support services for the management of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-1189-2008.

The Subcontractor shall have demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.

The subcontractor shall also be familiar with technical issues raised by the United States Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities.

The subcontractor shall have the experience and background to serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
