Job summary

Side is seeking a Technical Designer to bridge creative vision and technical implementation across co-development projects. You will leverage Unreal Engine 4, Blueprints, and C++ to prototype, refine systems, and deliver playable experiences with cross-functional teams including narrative and UI.

You'll lead design efforts on UE4 projects, mentor designers, and collaborate with engineering to ensure robust gameplay systems and scalable content across multiple studios.

Qualifications

• Deep Unreal Engine 4 expertise with gameplay and level design.
• Experience leading design teams on Unreal Engine projects.
• Proficiency in prototyping and mentoring designers.

Responsibilities

• Refactor prototype Blueprint assets into scalable systemic actors, utilizing C++ in Unreal Engine 4 when core performance or extension is needed.
• Build UI tooling and developer interfaces to surface debug information and diagnostics to logs and HUDs.
• Debug and verify large-scale game systems, cleaning up errors and resolving content or code issues.
• Implement gameplay mechanics and reward systems while partnering with narrative teams to seamlessly hook up quest lines.
