Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Moorpark, CA is seeking an Engineering Development Technician II to work on advanced unmanned systems. You will contribute to development, build, integration, and maintenance of these systems, including fixtures, tools, and documentation.

Role requires 3+ years in machining, composites, rapid prototyping, electronics, and travel to test sites. Strong shop skills and safety awareness are essential for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent technical certificate.
• 3+ years of technical experience in machining, composites, rapid prototyping and electronics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Familiarity with aircraft and/or remote control (R/C) experience.
• Experience building fixtures, tools, parts or electrical devices.
• Experience with build/assembly documentation development.
• Knowledge in Fabrication, Composites, Mechanics or Electronics.
• Ability to travel locally and domestically for test sites and development testing.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical, electrical, and composite fabrication support, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment and tools including lathes, mills, and 3D printers.
• Meet timelines and deadlines to have hardware ready for milestones.
• Attend project meetings to discuss schedule and status.
• Document processes and build techniques for readiness and handover.
• Build low volume prototype assemblies for product lifecycle.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized lab and shop areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
