Job summary

Cornell University’s AI Initiative seeks a collaborative, organized Program Manager to support management of AI-related research programs and community activities across the university. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of full-time work experience in program or project management within higher education, research, or an academic environment.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, or research and innovation.
• Experience coordinating multiple complex programs with priorities, deadlines, and follow-through.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and to resolve operational issues.
• Experience with budget tracking, financial administration, and/or program reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives with effective planning, communication, documentation, and delivery to timelines.
• Develop and maintain processes and systems to facilitate collaboration and reduce administrative burden on faculty.
• Provide day-to-day project management and administrative coordination for internal funding competitions, seed grants, compute allocations, Communities of Practice, and other research initiatives.
• Develop and maintain administrative systems, SOPs, templates, program files, shared repositories, and dashboards.
