Job summary

The William & Mary School of Education is recruiting a pool of Adjunct Faculty to supervise university student teachers for the 2026-2027 year. The supervisor observes, coaches, and formally evaluates student teachers in K-12 settings, serving as instructor of record and liaison with partner schools.

Travel to placement sites is required, and compensation is $705 per student supervised. This is a restricted, non-benefited appointment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Former teacher and/or instructional administrator in a public school division.
• Three+ years of successful, full-time teaching.
• Written or verbal recommendations from former supervisors or admin colleagues.
• Current or former state teaching license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and supervise student teachers during their placements.
• Observe student teachers five times across a semester in K-12 settings.
• Provide coaching, formatively evaluate performance, and give written feedback.
• Facilitate conferences with student-teacher and cooperating teacher pairs.
• Complete two formal evaluations and act as liaison between university and schools.
• Attend one training session per year.
