Job summary

Jacksonville State University is seeking University Student Assistants to help create welcoming and organized guest experiences at Randy Owen Center performances. It is an event-based role with hours varying by the ROC schedule and availability, including potential evenings and weekends.

Applicants must be JSU students enrolled for at least 3 credit hours in fall or spring, with a minimum GPA of 2.00 if not a first-time student. Selected interns provide enrollment proof and GPA.

Qualifications

• Evidence of enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or enrollment/GPA printout).

Responsibilities

• Attend required training and scheduling meetings.
• Prepare event spaces, move signage and stanchions, and stock publications and materials.
• Assist with crowd management before, during, and after performances.
• Scan tickets and support concessions operations.
• Provide guest assistance and event information.
• Assist with event setup, cleanup, and light custodial duties.
• Work closely with event management and perform other related duties as assigned.

$10.00 per hour (maximum 26 hours per week).

Position Summary:

University Student Assistants support welcoming, safe, and organized guest experiences at Randy Owen Center performances and events. This is an event-based position. The posting will remain available August 1, 2026–July 31, 2027. Students apply to be considered for individual events; selection for one event does not guarantee future assignments. Scheduling depends on event needs and availability. Evening and weekend work may be required. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.

Employment and Scheduling:

This is an event-based student employment opportunity. Work assignments will vary based on the ROC's performance and event calendar. Students must be available to work assigned event hours, which may include evenings, weekends and extended hours for event setup and teardown. Students may be scheduled for multiple events based on availability, qualifications, and operational needs. Employment is not guaranteed for every event.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *)
• If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
• Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU.
