Position Title:University Resource OfficerPosition Type:Fixed Term (Fixed Term)About the Role:The University Resource Officer is a seasonal or part-time member of the UPD team (generally August through May) with responsibilities for providing law enforcement services to the campus community. Candidates must be eligible for appointment under K.R.S. 164.952, including retirement from a KPPA administered system with at least 20 years of service credit and in good standing. This position is for 1500 hours typically worked from August through May.Communicating with supervisors, peers, and all stakeholders in a courteous, culturally adroit manner that models the University Police core values, while providing an outstanding customer service experience.Patrolling assigned areas on foot, bicycle, or motor vehicle .Promptly, clearly, and concisely completing a variety of written incident , offense , and ancillary reports in a grammatically correct manner and in accordance with established best practices .Responding to emergency alarms and dispatched calls for service .Observing and responding to actual and suspected criminal activity .Deterring crime and arresting violators as prescribed by Kentucky Revised Statutes .POSTED SALARY:$42.00 per hour plus KLEFPFEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:The University Resource Officer is a seasonal or part-time member of the UPD team (generally August through May) with responsibilities for providing law enforcement services to the campus community. Candidates must be eligible for appointment under K.R.S. 164.952, including retirement from a KPPA administered system with at least 20 years of service credit and in good standing.Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs ):S uccessful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
