The role requires supervision of interns, documentation for state certification, and effective communication with school mentors. A Master’s Degree and current teaching certification are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Current teaching certification.
• Minimum of three years classroom experience at supervision level.
• Experience evaluating teachers using the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) or an approved method.
• University-level mentor training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the field component of clinical teaching/internship.
• Submit all documents required for state certification of teacher candidates.
• Disseminate handbooks, documents and important information to the field.
• Guide clinical teachers/intern through weeks of clinical teaching/internship.
• Ensure completion of appropriate paperwork by clinical teachers/interns.
• Liaise between Texas Wesleyan University School of Education and K-12 schools.
• Assist in conflict resolution between teachers/interns and school personnel.
• Nominate outstanding clinical teachers/interns.
• Provide references for candidates upon completion of clinical teaching/internship.
