Job summary

Indiana University Indianapolis is seeking a University Archivist for the Ruth Lilly Special Collections and Archives. You will actively collect university records, including born-digital materials and websites, and provide access for researchers.

The role reports to the Director of Distinctive Collections and collaborates with library colleagues, faculty, and university partners to advance archival programs and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library/information science or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of professional archives experience, internships counted.
• Experience with born-digital records and archival best practices.

Responsibilities

• Actively collect university records of permanent value, including born-digital materials and websites.
• Supervise processing, accessioning, preservation, and finding aid creation; train student workers.
• Provide reference services for researchers (virtual and in-person).
• Liaise on records retention; manage web archiving of university sites.
• Collaborate to improve service, policies, and department initiatives.
• Support campus engagement with distinctive collections.
