Job summary

Ball State University Housing and Residence Life seeks an Accounting Specialist to aid fiscal operations, including purchasing, payroll processing, and reporting for housing accounts receivable. This role supports the Assistant Director and works with Kronos, Banner, StarRez, CashNet, and Argos to ensure accurate transactions.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent and 1–3 years of related experience; familiarity with university systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll processing and accounts receivable is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Assistant Director for Housing and Residence Life Fiscal Operations by assisting with purchasing, credit card security and allocation, payroll processing, monthly reporting, and account analysis.
• Perform monthly reconciliation and online allocation of charges; train and answer questions as needed.
• Process Kronos timekeeping, payroll adjustments, and labor distribution forms; maintain procedures and stay current on payroll procedures and union agreement.
