Job summary

Newtown Savings Bank is hiring a Universal Banker I at the Brookfield branch. You will work with Branch Management to implement bank policies and drive branch goals, while proactively generating new deposits, loan applications, and investment referrals. You may cover other branches as needed.

The role emphasizes customer service, sales of banking products, and accurate processing of customer transactions, wire requests, and account maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous relevant customer service and/or sales experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous service to all customers and resolve issues or refer to management as needed.
• Proactively generate new deposit accounts, loan applications, and investment referrals; promote banking products.
• Develop new account relationships and open consumer accounts based on customer needs.
• Complete customer domestic wire requests within authority limits.
• Process teller transactions within policy; obtain supervisor approval for out-of-authority items.
• Maintain customer information and account records.
• Support branch operations, including ATM balancing, night drop processing, and daily balancing.
• Assist with staff meetings, business development, and sales management activities.
• Follow CIP, BSA, AML and OFAC policies and complete compliance requirements.
• Meet with supervisor to discuss performance and career development.
• Support the bank's mission, vision, and core values.
• Participate in community activities as required.
