FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Sanford, FL is seeking a Member Service Specialist (Universal Banker) for the Downtown Sanford branch. You’ll handle teller and platform transactions, open accounts, and recommend products to help members achieve financial freedom.

In this on-site role, you’ll build relationships through consultative conversations, refer loans, deposits, investments, and digital tools, and support branch goals with service excellence and compliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a member-facing banking role.
• Familiarity with lending products and services is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle all teller and platform transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Open new accounts and recommend relevant products and services.
• Build trust through consultative conversations leading to long-term financial success for members.
• Proactively refer deposit accounts, loans, investments, and digital banking tools.
• Generate loan opportunities through inbound, outbound, and referral-based efforts.
• Provide prompt support for service needs such as account maintenance and issue resolution.
• Educate members on self-service tools (online banking, mobile apps, ATMs).
• Serve as a keyholder when needed and support branch opening/closing and custody tasks.
• Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and security standards.

As a Member Service Specialist (Universal Banker) for our Downtown Sanford branch, you’ll be the first step in helping our members live financially free!

You’ll take an active role in uncovering opportunities, generating loans, and connecting members to the right products and services. Your ability to balance service with smart, needs-based recommendations will directly contribute to both member success and branch performance.

Your Role in Our Mission:

Serve as the go-to resource for members by handling all teller and platform transactions accurately and efficiently.

Open new accounts and recommend relevant products and services based on members’ unique financial needs.

Build trust and deepen relationships through consultative conversations that lead to long-term financial success for our members.

Proactively refer solutions including deposit accounts, loans, investment and insurance products, and digital banking tools.

Actively generate loan opportunities through inbound, outbound, and referral-based efforts.

Deliver prompt support for service-related needs such as account maintenance and problem resolution.

Promote and educate members on self-service tools including online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs.

Serve as a keyholder when needed and support operational procedures including branch opening/closing and negotiable item custody.

Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and security protocols while supporting the branch team in achieving goals.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Demonstrated success in a member-facing role.

• Previous banking experience required.
• Previous lending experience required.

Strong knowledge of FAIRWINDS products, services, and digital platforms.

You lead withcare and know how to listen and respond to members’ needs.

Comfortable navigating both transactional and consultative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Confident in your ability to cross-sell, handle objections, and educate members.

Proven track record of achieving individual and/or branch goals.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
