Job summary

United Bank in Waynesboro, VA is hiring for a customer service–oriented role within our branch team. The base pay range is $42,369 to $67,791, with merit increases and potential bonuses as part of the total compensation package.

You will interact with clients, handle money with accuracy, complete internal training, and develop relationships through proactive service and product knowledge. This position requires strong communication in Spanish or another language as a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Minimum 3 years customer service experience or 2+ years in banking environment, preferably branch.
• Prior experience handling money is required.
• Completion of in-house training program within a reasonable timeframe.
• Sales-oriented and relationship-building demeanor essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish or another language a plus.
• Basic math skills required.
• Professional interaction with clients is essential.
• Ability to learn Bank products/services independently.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of core banking systems is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree a plus
• Minimum of three (3) years of previous professional level of customer contact and service working experience or minimum of two (2) years of prior working experience in a Banking environment, preferably in a branch is required
• Prior experience in handling and being accountable for money is required
• Ability to successfully complete the Bank’s in-house Training Program within a reasonable timeframe required
• Ability to demonstrate in a professional manner, a sales-oriented and relationship building demeanor
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Spanish or additional language a plus.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations is required
• Demonstrates ability to interact confidently with clients is essential
• Ability to be initiative in self-directed learning of Bank’s products/services in order to expand and become well versed with the products/services offered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel) required
• Understanding and working knowledge of appropriate core banking system is beneficial
• Being detail oriented, ability to multi-task and work independently and in a team environment is essential.

Company Profile

In Waynesboro, VA the expected base pay, and salary range for this role is $42,369 to $67,791. Placement within the range will be determined on an individualized basis commensurate with experience and skills and is only one part of the total compensation package. Your base salary may be subject to an annual merit increase based upon performance and, depending on the position, may be eligible for cash bonuses, long-term incentives, commissions, and other United Bank sponsored benefit programs.
