Position Summary

Greetscustomers and assesses needs to determine sales/service focus or referral toappropriate department. Capable of completingthe duties of a CSR and Teller.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

  • Access customerneeds for sales and/or services in a professional manner, determines bestsolution and clearly communicates that solution to the customer. Answer questions regarding bank products andservices while recognizing sales and referral opportunities.
  • Stay apprised ofexisting bank products and services including implementation of new ones.
  • Open depositaccounts including checking and savings, certificates of deposit, safe depositbox leases, HSAs, IRAs, etc.
  • Perform specificservice transactions for customers including but not limited to reorderingchecks, making account name and address changes, granting access to safedeposit boxes, etc.
  • Handle customer service issues by conducting research, assumingownership of customer problems, and providing follow‑up status to customers.
  • Greet customers to ensure smooth traffic flow within banking office inorder to provide efficient service.
  • Build customerrelationships by using bank developed techniques and processes to better servecustomers and the banking office team.Be proactive in daily customer and prospective customer contact, eitherby phone or in person to identify financial needs and initiate and/orstrengthen relationships.
  • Ensure accurateand timely processing of basic teller transactions such as accepting depositsand loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks withinapproval limit or obtaining authorization as needed, issuing official checks,taking large commercial deposits, cash advances, etc.
  • Balance daily work in accordance with established Bankpolicies and procedures.
  • Handleproportionate volume of work based on banking office demands to include TellerCapture.
  • Resolve customerissues and problems in a professional manner or refer to appropriate staff toguarantee customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Support teamsales process by identifying and acting upon customer needs or by making theappropriate referral. Participate inteam and individual sales goals.
  • Follow bankpolicies and procedures, security guidelines, and comply with all federal,state and local regulations.
  • Manage risk inevery customer interaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent losses
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required and aminimum of 2 years related job experience, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate willingness and desire to interact in ateam environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Adaptability to change, including cross‑training forCustomer Service Representative and Teller Supervisor functions.
  • Ability to compute basic to moderately complex mathcalculations.
  • Basic problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability tointerpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and officeproducts (e.g., Word, Excel).
