Job summary

Provident Credit Union in Alameda, CA is seeking a Universal Banker who will deliver sales and service excellence, open new accounts, process transactions, and cross-sell financial products. This role supports member relations, participates in community activities, and helps achieve sales goals.

Under supervision of the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager, you will also provide guidance to junior staff and ensure compliance with BSA/OFAC policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1+ years in financial services banking or credit union.
• 1+ years of sales and service experience with proven results.
• Experience making outbound calls.
• Experience with real estate and consumer loans.
• Experience with business banking products and relationships.
• Cash handling/teller transactions/loan funding.
• Team oriented and able to build relationships.
• Excellent listening and speaking skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Understand and adhere to BSA and OFAC policy and procedures incl.

Job Details: Job Location: Alameda, CA 94501, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $27.50 - $27.50 Hourly

The Universal Banker is a highly motivated sales and service professional with advanced knowledge of Provident's products and services. The Universal Banker is responsible for opening new products, processing transactions, cross-selling products and services, and providing exceptional member service. The Universal Banker proactively interacts with current and potential members, and participates in business development and community activities to generate new business. The Universal Banker is successful at consistently achieving individual sales goals and uses available resources to increase business, strengthen member relationships, and increase member loyalty. In addition, they are responsible for providing training, leadership and support to less experienced branch staff. The Universal Banker is a keen problem solver who is comfortable taking the initiative to 'Do What's Right.' The Universal Banker works under the supervision of the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager and performs other duties as directed.

Education / Work Experience / Skills / Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1+ years in financial services experience in banking or credit union
• 1+ years of sales and service experience with proven results
• Experience making effective outbound telephone calls
• Experience with Real Estate and Consumer Loans
• Experience with business banking products and relationships
• Experience with cash handling/teller transactions/loan funding

Licenses/Certifications:

• Notary License, ability to obtain within 120 days of hired
• CUNA Certification/FiCEP Financial Counseling Certification to obtain within 120 days of hired
• NMLS – National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry to obtain within 30 days of hired
• Medallion Stamp Certification to obtain within 120 days of hired

Travel Details / Schedule:

• Required to travel to other Provident locations outside of home branch
• Required to attend offsite training, meetings, or events

Work Schedule:

• Full-time; 40 hours a week Monday - Friday, 9:15am - 6:15pm & rotational Saturdays 8:45am - 4:30pm
• Occasionally work early or late hours, and extended weekend hour

Compensation:

Pay Grade is P1. This position is eligible for our twice a year discretionary bonus.

Targeted Base Pay: $27.50 per hour
