Job summary

Intuitive Surgical is seeking a Software Engineer with Unity 3D experience to join our Performance Solutions team in Sunnyvale. You will work on virtual reality and XR applications, supporting a mature codebase and delivering quarterly updates to visualization and demonstration tools.

The role requires a BS in CS, 3 years of Unity development, strong C# skills, and experience with XR devices. You will collaborate across disciplines in an agile environment and contribute to scalable, reusable

Qualifications

• BS in computer science or related field is required.
• 3 years of real-world Unity-based development experience.
• Proven track record shipping on mature codebases.
• Experience with XR technologies and devices (Meta Quest, HoloLens, Vision Pro).
• Strong C# knowledge, OO patterns, and software architecture.
• Ability to self-test and verify own work before QA.
• Proficient with Git for version control, branching, and PRs.
• Excellent communication in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support senior developers in completing tasks.
• Scope and estimate your own work accurately and flag slippage early.
• Independently build features from clearly scoped direction.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and QA.
• Create documentation for features and techniques tried or implemented.
• Transfer knowledge to teammates and other teams as needed.
• Architect software in a modular way to support scalable features.
• Build, debug, and deploy next-gen XR and traditional apps for Windows and Android in Unity using C#.
