Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Unit Support Assistant to support the Inpatient Birthing Pavilion, including admitting and discharging patients, creating new baby medical records, ordering supplies, and training to become a unit expert in cleaning and compliance.

The role is part-time with rotating 12-hour shifts (days 7a–7p and nights 7p–7a) across all seven days. Candidates should have strong medical knowledge and the ability to switch tasks quickly within a multidisciplinary inpatient team.

Qualifications

• Proficient in computer skills and customer service.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admits and discharges patients and creates new baby medical records.
• Orders supplies and coordinates with multidisciplinary inpatient team.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and compliance; supports infection prevention standards.
• Documents patient status and flow using the unit's systems.
• Manages medication storage areas in accordance with policy.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
