Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health's Inpatient Birthing Pavilion seeks a part-time Unit Support Assistant who will admit and discharge patients, create newborn records, order supplies, and train to become a unit expert in cleaning and compliance. The role involves 2x12hr shifts rotating across 7 days (days 7a-7p and nights 7p-7a) and collaboration with a multidisciplinary inpatient team.

Responsibilities

• Assists interdisciplinary team in providing a well-supplied, safe, and clean inpatient unit.
• Acts as front line representative; interacts with families and visitors; answers calls.
• Coordinates with Unit leader to meet safety and infection prevention standards.
• Ensures unit is well supplied and equipment is available and functional.
• Documents patient status and flow using support systems.
• Maintains up-to-date, HIS-compliant chart information.
• Manages secure medication storage within policy and performs other duties as required.
