St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, a Tower Health partner, seeks a Unit Support Coordinator to assist nursing staff and manage clerical tasks in the pediatric unit in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities include patient records, phone support, supply coordination, Kronos timekeeping, and welcoming new patients and families. The role requires strong communication, organization, multitasking, and teamwork, with evening/night shifts Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role
  • Schedule: Evening/Night shift. Mon - Fri 9p - 3:30a.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble patient records and maintain documentation
  • Answer phones and patient calls; coordinate with nursing staff
  • Order and ensure delivery of supplies; manage timekeeping via Kronos
  • Welcome new patients and families; orient to patient/family areas of the unit
  • Answer call lights and provide support as needed
  • Disseminate pertinent information to staff; assist unit leaders as requested

Job Summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children

The Unit Support Coordinator provides guests information, as well as, supports the efforts of the unit staff. The unit support coordinator performs designated duties under the supervision of a professional nurse in addition to handling clerical and specific administrative tasks for the nursing unit. This includes assembling patient records, answering phones and patient calls. Other duties include ordering and ensuring delivery of supplies, timekeeping via Kronos, welcome of new patients and families to the unit, orientation to patient / family areas of the unit, answering call lights, and other related functions as needed. Additionally, the unit support coordinator can assist the unit leaders in disseminating pertinent information to the staff.
