Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston is seeking a Unit Support Assistant to perform routine housekeeping and respond to spill cleanup calls in line with infection control procedures. You will support patient care areas, transport patients when needed, and handle specimen and supply delivery to designated zones.

Successful candidates will have at least 1 year of environmental services experience in healthcare or related fields, with a high school diploma or equivalent; otherwise substitution

Qualifications

• Required 1-year experience in environmental services in healthcare, hospitality, or contract cleaning service.
• Preferred prior hospital experience in Environmental Services and housekeeping.
• High school diploma or equivalent may be substituted for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties in assigned areas daily according to standard operating and approved infection control procedures
• Demonstrates ownership for responsibilities in assigned zone and other designated areas
• Demonstrates accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills
• If assigned, locates, visually inspects, tests functionality, and cleans patient equipment
