Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary for PRN shifts in Atlantis, FL. You will help keep the unit organized, facilitate clear communication, and support the care team to ensure patients and families feel valued and informed.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, managing records and orders, coordinating calls, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked environment while fostering teamwork and respect across staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required as a minimum.
• CSH/BS degree or higher considered a plus.
• CPR/BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Greet and guide patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Maintain patient records and enter physician orders accurately.
• Relay communications between patients, families and care team promptly.
• Keep the unit environment clean, organized, and stocked for safety.
• Proactively support daily operations and teamwork across shifts.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Unit Secretary, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care every day. You will create a welcoming, organized space where patients and families feel valued and informed. You will use clear, compassionate communication and attention to detail to keep the unit running smoothly and caring for others like family – one shift at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED, or Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
