Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a full-time Unit Secretary to coordinate patient flow and provide essential clerical support. The role requires working 40 hours on day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays. Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma, with a preference for further education in business.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Business school or Associate Degree in Business preferred.
• Certification as a Healthcare Unit Coordinator (HUC) preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow on the unit.
• Process patient orders.
• Prepares and disassembles patient charts.
• Prepares forms and documents required for patient care.
• Communicates unit related and/or patient related needs to other departments and healthcare team members.
• Request and obtain supplies and equipment.
• Answer phones and greeting visitors.
