Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking a Unit Secretary to view and process physician orders in the electronic medical record, transcribe orders when needed, maintain bed management records, access lab results, and coordinate non-nursing services within the unit.

You will greet visitors, answer calls, prepare medical records on discharge, copy records, maintain census data, attend daily discharge rounds and support staff with unit duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and a minimum of one year job-related experience or equivalent are required.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology are also required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, assemble and maintain accurate, functional medical records for all patients in the assigned unit.
• Accurately view and process physician orders in the electronic medical record and transcribe orders when needed.
