In the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU), you will work with patients with cardiac and vascular diseases, some requiring intermediate care. Patients may have congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarcts (STEMI, NSTEMI), cardiac dysrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, pulmonary edema, amputations, etc. The unit performs interventions including echocardiograms, nuclear studies, pacemakers, PCI, vascular surgery, cardioversion, and cath lab procedures. You will become skilled in interpreting cardiac rhythms, drip titration, and post-cath interventions like TR Bands and femoral sheath pulls. Our nurses are trained in ACLS, NIHSS, and respond to code blue events hospital-wide.

The role involves performing clerical and reception duties, preparing and maintaining patient charts, transcribing physician orders, and entering data into the computerized patient care system. The position works with patients of all age groups except neonates.

Requirements
  • One (1) year of experience in a clerical position.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to type.
Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital clerical work.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Service excellence skills.
  • Good communication skills.
