Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Nursing Support/Medical Assistant for the night shift to provide clerical and patient-facing support on the telemetry unit.

You will greet patients, manage admission procedures, handle medical records, and answer the telemetry emergency phone while contributing to patient throughput and hospital efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of medical terminology course preferred.
• 1 year Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon admission and welcome them to the unit.
• Answer telemetry emergency phone and route calls as needed.
• Act as receptionist for unit staff and visitors.
• Maintain patient charts and incoming/outgoing messages.
• Order and maintain supplies for the unit and manage inventory.
• Set up assignments in Responder system and monitor call lights.
• Support patient throughput and unit efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.
