Job summary

Northway Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Unit Manager (RN) to oversee daily clinical operations on an assigned unit, supervise nursing staff, and ensure resident-centered care in line with regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will coordinate care plans, mentor staff, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and support admissions, transfers, and quality initiatives while maintaining compassionate leadership.

Qualifications

• Current RN license by state required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication with staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical care and operations of the assigned unit.
• Supervise, guide, and support nurses and nursing assistants.
• Ensure care plans are followed and updated appropriately.
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and families.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Support infection control practices and quality assurance initiatives.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff to promote a strong clinical team.

This role works closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to maintain regulatory compliance, support staff development, and promote positive resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current R.N. license by State required
• Must have at least two years of nursing experience.
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
• Ability to lead a team with professionalism and compassion
• Excellent communication skills with staff, residents, and families
