Job summary

Bay Harbor Post Acute and Healthcare Center is seeking a Temporary Unit Manager to lead the nursing unit, ensuring safe, high‑quality resident care on a Monday–Friday schedule. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, policy implementation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.

Applicants should have an active RN or LPN license, BLS certification, and at least five years of nursing experience with two years in supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an active nursing license in the state (RN or LPN).
  • Valid BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a nursing care center, hospital, or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit.
  • Oversee and coordinate resident care to promote the highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting with follow-up and communication to the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in facility committees and programs as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures based on clinical and operational needs.
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff on the unit.
  • Monitor compliance with care plans, regulations, and quality standards to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care and continuous improvement.

$95K-$100,000K/annually

  • Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit.

Qualifications for Unit Manager:
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as an LPN or RN in the state of VA.
  • Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a nursing care center, hospital, or other healthcare setting required.
