Job summary

Marcella Post Acute in Virginia is seeking a Unit Manager for our 180-bed Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care facility on a full-time day shift. This role offers $38–$45 per hour, all-inclusive, and centers on delivering safe, high-quality resident care with strong clinical leadership.

You will oversee nursing operations on the unit, supervise staff, ensure care plans meet residents' needs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered Virginia LPN or RN license.
• Valid BLS CPR certification required.
• A nursing degree from an accredited college is preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience.
• Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience in nursing care settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident care on the assigned nursing unit.
• Coordinate resident care to support physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Ensure incident reporting is timely and accurate with follow-up.

Responsibilities for Unit Manager:

• Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit.
• Oversee and coordinate resident care to promote the highest possible level of physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting, with appropriate follow-up and communication to the Administrator and the Director of Nursing.
• Participate in facility committees and programs as directed by the Director of Nursing.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures based on identified clinical and operational needs.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff on the unit.
• Monitor compliance with care plans, regulations, and quality standards to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for Unit Manager:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as an LPN or RN in the state of Virginia.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a nursing care center, hospital, or other healthcare setting required.
