Job summary

University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a unit educator and master teacher to advance nursing education on the CTH Outpatient Clinic. You will facilitate evidence-based research, partner with clinical staff, and supervise student learners from the College of Nursing on the home unit.

The role requires a BSN or MSN, RN license in NM, and at least 18 months of related experience. You will lead staff development, coordinate in-service training, and ensure adherence to safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• RN license in NM or per reciprocity.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS or professional rescuer within 30 days.
• 18 months of directly related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within clinical protocols.
• Lead unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills through the master clinician/preceptor model.
• Instruct students from the College of Nursing on the home unit and assist with staffing as needed.
• Plan patient care plans incorporating evidence-based research and national standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
• Educate staff on new equipment and in-service training/workshops.
• Deliver safe direct patient care and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Support professional development through conferences and reading current literature.
