Job summary

Quality Inn is seeking a Unit Counselor to support shelter residents with care, socialization, crisis intervention, and facility monitoring.

Overview: Responsibilities include resident orientation, communicating program processes, providing social support, and transporting residents to appointments as needed. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Some experience in a human services setting.
• Must obtain a food handlers certificate within 45 days of hire.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred.
• Work Eligibility: Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Participate in or conduct orientation for new residents.
• Communicate program processes and activities to residents.
• Provide social support and motivational interviewing interventions.
• Provide transportation for residents to appointments as needed.
• Assist with meal-related activities including warming, serving, and cleanup.
• Document neighborhood activities and resident interactions.
• Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
• Attend management, supervision, and required training meetings.
• Report serious incidents and complete required incident documentation.
• Conduct hourly rounds and ensure resident wellbeing.
• Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
