ICL at Two Bridges Shelter in New York, NY is seeking a Unit Counselor to support residents through care, socialization, crisis intervention, and monitoring across shelter programs. This onsite role emphasizes compassionate engagement and safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and experience in human services; NYS driver’s license preferred, food handler certificate within 45 days; authorization to work in the U.S. Training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Responsibilities

• Participate in or conduct orientation for new residents.
• Communicate program processes and activities to residents.
• Provide social support and motivational interviewing interventions.
• Provide transportation for residents to appointments as needed.
• Assist with meal-related activities including warming, serving, and cleanup.
• Document neighborhood activities and resident interactions.
• Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
• Attend management, supervision, and required training meetings.
• Report serious incidents and complete required incident documentation.
• Conduct hourly rounds and ensure resident wellbeing.
• Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
