Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an RN to serve as Unit Coordinator/Charge Nurse in the Vascular Access/IV Therapy area. You will coordinate patient flow, assign staff, and mentor clinical practice while collaborating with the Nurse Manager and HR on staff performance management.

Requirements include a Bachelor Degree in Nursing with BSN preferred by 2025; a valid RN license and BLS certification. Experience in leadership and a clinical setting is desired.

Qualifications

• BLS/ACLS as required by unit.
• RN license in good standing (single state or compact).
• Leadership and mentorship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments and throughput management.
• Manage patient care assignments based on needs and acuity.
• Assist with staff hiring, education and performance evaluation.
• Instruct staff to ensure compliance with standards and monitor performance.
• Support productivity targets and budget compliance; lead unit performance improvement.
