Job summary

Midland Memorial Hospital is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to support hospital staff, adult and pediatric patients. You will promote positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors, while adhering to infection control policies and safety standards.

The role requires strong communication and professionalism, with a PRN schedule 6:00am-6:00pm. Education preferences include an Associate degree and Health Unit Coordinator certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow workflows to deliver support to patients and staff.
  • Demonstrate positive communication with patients, families, physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Provide a safe environment, adhere to infection control policies, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Be current with AEDs and other competencies, and follow dress code policies.

Job Description

Responsible for the support of all hospital staff, adult and pediatric patients. Responsible for promoting positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families and other visitors.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

PRN, 6:00am-6:00pm

Essential Functions/Performance Expectations
  • Follows expected workflows and processes set up for the delivery of support to patients and staff.
  • Demonstrates positive effective communication, including education with patients and families, physicians and other healthcare team members, and professional communications skills.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, families and co-workers, including handwashing, and adherence to infection control policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism including current AED’s and other competencies, following dress code policies, participation in orientation of new team members.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
  • Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred
