Job summary

Midland Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN Program Manager focused on NICU and Women’s & Children’s Services to lead clinical operations, quality initiatives, and staff development.

Responsibilities include oversight of NICU, Lactation, and Childbirth Education; program management; reporting to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services; chairing monthly neonatal QAPI meetings; and ensuring BSN, Texas RN license, and relevant certifications are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree required or enrollment with graduation within 6 months
• Current Texas RN license
• Certification in specialty (e.g., NIC, LRN) preferred
• Current BLS; NRP within 6 months; STABLE courses encouraged

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of assigned areas (staffing, through-put, patient concerns, room assignments)
• Oversee communication and development within spans of control
• Conduct quality management audits and data analysis
• Implement corrective actions for employee performance
• Foster collaboration and stakeholder relationships in decision making
• Allocate 60% of time to NICU/Lactation/Child Birth Education clinical duties and 40% to Neonatal program management
• Lead prenatal/neonatal program development and collaborate with other facilities in Perinatal Care Region
• Report to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services
• Chair monthly neonatal QAPI multidisciplinary meetings

The RN, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The RN functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of nursing practice.7 The RN demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in nursing practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time, Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Essential Functions/Performance Expectations

• Responsible for managing the daily operations of their assigned areas (e.g., staffing, through-put, patient concerns, staff concerns, room assignments, data collection, process flow, staff utilization, etc.)
• Responsible for the communication, growth and development of their set spans of control.
• Responsible for quality management audits and related analysis of data.
• Responsible for corrective action related to employee performance.
• Responsible for communication and relationship building through shared decision making and stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of healthcare environment demonstrated in practice knowledge, outcome measurement and knowledge of quality improvement metrics.
• Responsible for managing NICU, Lactation and Child Birth Education 60% of time allocated to Clinical Manager duties.
• NICU Program manager is responsible to create, develop and implement specialized clinical practice in the area of neonatology. Build collaborative relationships with other neonatal program managers of designated facilities within the Perinatal Care Region. 40% of time allocated to Program management.
• Reports to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services
• Chairs the neonatal quality assurance and process improvement (QAPI) multidisciplinary monthly meetings
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BSN) Degree in Nursing required. If nurse does not have a BSN upon hire, the nurse must be currently enrolled in BSN program with graduation within 6 months of assigned position. One (1) year of leadership experience is preferred.
• Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse
• Certification in area of specialty (e.g., MNN, LRN, NIC) preferred
• Current BLS upon hire; NRP required within 6 months of date of employment. Current S.T.A.B.L.E courses preferred and encouraged.
