McLaren Health Care on the 2 E Telemetry unit seeks a Nursing Assistant to support RN staff and perform receptionist/secretarial duties on the unit. Under supervision, you’ll help maintain patient safety, dignity and comfort while assisting with basic care tasks.

Responsibilities include rounding, responding to calls, assisting with baths, beds, feeding, vital signs, intake/output, and clean, private patient areas. Strong computer skills and medical terminology knowledge are needed.

Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit assigned and meets the communication needs of the patient (family, departmental staff and medical staff). Supports the nursing staff by performing specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Assist and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and respects patient’s rights.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program, or 6 months experience as a Nursing Assistant in a Healthcare facility, or completion of fundamentals if enrolled in an Accredited School of Nursing program
• BLS Certification
• Knowledge of keyboard/computer
• Medical terminology knowledge

Preferred

• Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program
• Current State of Michigan CNA certification
• Previous work experience or training as a Unit Clerk and Nurse Aide
