McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the 5 East Telemetry unit. This full-time role reports to a Nurse and supports day-to-day patient care activities in a Medical/Surgical environment in Bay City, Michigan.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification program, plus BLS certification. Prior acute care experience and phlebotomy training are preferred.

• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience
