Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a Unit Clerk to be the organizational heartbeat on its nursing units. You will handle clerical duties, reception, and information flow to support nurses, physicians, and healthcare teams, contributing to high-quality patient care.

You will communicate with patients and families, manage documentation and chart assembly, and collaborate with clinical staff. This full-time day-shift role requires strong organizational skills and professional, courteous patient interactions,

Qualifications

• Provides clerical and administrative support on nursing units.
• Demonstrates population-specific communication skills.
• Supports clinical and non-clinical staff with patient information flow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and monitor equipment as needed.
• Follow hospital and nursing department policies for care and use of equipment and supplies.
• Use proper body mechanics to prevent injuries to self and patients.
• Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
• Answer telephone promptly and identify self, title, and department.
• Register patients and assemble and disassemble charts in a timely manner.
