  • Efficiently use supplies and equipment, respond rapidly, and file appropriate work orders to support unit goals and eliminate waste.
  • Process unit-appropriate patient charges with accuracy and timeliness and update billing information.
  • Complete assignments and duties in a timely manner.
  • Leave shift on time and utilize the time keeping system.
  • Demonstrate productivity and accept EDO and float assignments.
  • Document verbal/telephone orders with date, time, order, physician and physician representative name, and your own name and title.
  • Verify accurate order entry or clarify ambiguous, unclear, unreadable, or contradictory orders and document per unit standards.
  • Promote patient satisfaction and respond to patient needs; ensure professional use of personal devices in patient care areas.
  • Maintain a professional environment and minimize noise at all times; exemplify good guest relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Notify RN immediately of NOW and STAT orders and scheduled admissions/transfers; engage in patient care activities as needed.
  • Obtain and update demographic, medical order, and consult information; use the event management system for unusual occurrences.
  • Adjust care routines to meet individual patient needs; adhere to HIPAA and social media policy.

  • Verify accurate order entry or clarify all ambiguous unclear, unreadable or contradictory orders and appropriately document per unit specific standards
  • Possess ability to problem solve and to multitask within their scope of practice
  • Support processes looking at the patient experience and patient wait times
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and promote teamwork
  • Remain up to date with policy changes, collaborative practice plans, and standards of care

  • Promote patient satisfaction as exemplified by patient recognition, letters from patients and families, or SEA (Service Excellence Award)
  • Timely response to patient needs
