Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation & Pediatrics is a skilled nursing facility serving both geriatric and pediatric populations. We are seeking a Unit Clerk for our pediatric unit to support residents, families, and staff with essential administrative tasks and data management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Unit Clerk experience preferred.
  • Strong phone manners and computer skills.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment.

  • Respect confidentiality of resident information.
  • Maintain a professional attitude toward staff, residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Basic administrative office functions; filing and data entry.
  • Type reports and correspondences as required.
  • Assist with the admissions/discharge process.
  • Schedule appointments for residents when needed.
  • Initiate and coordinate transportation approvals and schedules.
  • Relay vital information to Nursing Staff and Medical Team.
  • Maintain medical records as per protocol.
  • File medical charts as required.
  • Provide unit staff with employee manuals and forms.
  • Keep nursing unit supplied with forms, medical, and resident supplies.
  • Place all forms in charts (treatment records, MARs, hospital/lab/X-Ray reports) as directed by the Clinical Manager.
  • Prepare charts for new admissions using proper forms, headings and labels.
  • Answer telephone on the nursing unit cordially and professionally.
  • Pick up supplies from Central Supply as needed.
  • Monitor usage of billable items in closet supply for accurate billing as directed by DON.
  • Monitor non-billable items and keep closet supply clean and labeled.

Responsibilities as a Unit Clerk:

  • Answer telephone on the nursing unit cordially and professionally
  • Pick up supplies from Central Supply as the need arises during working hours.
  • Monitor usage of billable items in closet supply to ensure accurate billing as directed by DON
  • Monitor non-billable items in closet supply and order as needed. Keep closet supply clean and orderly. Label pre-charged items with residents' name and room number

Requirements for a Unit Clerk:
