Job summary

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland is seeking a Full-time Nursing Unit Clerk. Schedule: Monday - Friday, Hours: 7a-3p, Pay: $18 - $22 hourly. NOW OFFERING SAME DAY PAY.

Unit Clerk requirements include a High School degree or equivalent, reliable transportation to the facility, and a solid work ethic. Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, communicating with the health care team and patients, assisting with activities and appointments, and handling clerical duties

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Reliable transportation to/from the facility is required.
• Demonstrates solid work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient records accurately identified.
• Communicate with health care team, patients and visitors via verbal and written means and equipment (phone, intercom).
• Assist with transporting to activities, rehab and appointments as needed.
• Prepare and maintain the unit's medical information system including patient profiles.
• Prepare forms and obtain closed records from Medical Records when needed.
• Record admissions, discharges and transfers; update bed status.
• Receive, distribute and sort supplies for the unit.
• Perform clerical duties such as copying and faxing documents.
• Greet visitors/consultants to the unit and assist as needed.
• Answer incoming calls and route to correct extension.
• Track appointments (ordered vs completed).
• Upload forms, consultations and resident records to the EMR.

Unit Clerk Requirements Include:

• Must have a High School degree of equivalent

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the facility

• Must display a solid work ethic.

Unit Clerk Duties Include:

• Keep patient records accurately identified.

• Communicate with members of the health care team, patients, and visitors using verbal and written means and equipment such as the telephone and intercom.

• Assist recreation aides in transporting to and from activities, rehab and appointments as needed

• Prepare and maintain the unit’s medical information system including patient profiles.

• Prepare special forms and may obtain closed records from Medical Records.

• Send profile and change-of-bed status on patient admission, discharge, and transfer.

• Assist with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit.

• Perform clerical duties such as making copies and faxing documents.

• Greet visitors /consultants etc. to the unit, assist as needed.

• Answer incoming calls and route callers to the correct extension.

• Track appointments (ordered vs completed).

• Upload forms, consultations, resident records etc. to the electronic medical record.
