Adult Protective Service (APS) is mandated by the State of New York to provide social, legal, and protective services to individuals 18 years of age and older, who due to mental or physical impairments are unable to meet their essential needs for food, shelter, clothing, or medical care, secure benefits and entitlements, or protect themselves from physical or mental injury, neglect, maltreatment, or financial exploitation. APS establishes safeguards to protect resources, safety, or health, and stabilizes situations. It ensures medical and psychiatric services, eviction prevention, financial management, home care, legal services, and, as a last resort, institutional placements.
Under the supervision of the Field Supervisor, the unit clerk performs clerical activities for all units in the Office, including stocking supplies, message taking, case record retrieval, document processing, and updates in the APS case management system. The role also involves supervising inter- and intra-city agency mail communication and preparing client case records.

Hours/Schedule: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Flexible)
