Job summary

The Kaiser Permanente Northwest Unit Specialist position in Oregon supports the health care team by delivering patient‑centered care and handling essential administrative and technical tasks. You will work with registered nurses, physicians, and allied health staff to ensure timely care and efficient unit operations.

You will manage electronic medical records, coordinate care, greet patients and families, and assist with onboarding of new hires.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• High School Diploma or GED; medical office training.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital workflows.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage electronic medical records including admissions, transfers, discharges, and orders.
• Coordinate care with nurses, physicians, and other staff; communicate patient needs.
• Assist with unit operations, supply orders, and device maintenance per policy.
• Greet patients and families and relay information to care teams.
• Support onboarding of new hires and maintain unit procedures.
