Job summary

University of New Mexico Hospitals is seeking a dedicated RN educator for the Intermediate Critical Care unit. The role combines clinical instruction for CON students, unit-based education, and leadership in implementing evidence-based care across a diverse patient population (neonates to geriatrics).

The ideal candidate holds essential and nonessential nursing credentials, 18 months of relevant experience, and will obtain unit-based instructor certifications within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• RN license in NM or via reciprocal agreement.
• Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications within 90 days.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead unit education and master preceptor activities.
• Develop patient plans of care incorporating evidence-based standards.
• Instruct nursing students on the home unit and assist on unit staffing.
• Collaborate with Clinical Educator and unit leadership to plan curricula.
• Educate staff on new equipment and coordinate in-service trainings.
• Monitor trends to ensure quality standards and safety.
