Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Auburn, WA is hiring a Unit Based Nursing Professional Development Specialist for ED Auburn and Covington. The role focuses on operationalizing nursing development tools, supports evidence-based practice, and works across units to close practice gaps while guiding onboarding and competency management.

The position requires a Master’s in Nursing, RN licensure in WA, and significant acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Registered Nurse license (WA) or multi-state licensure endorsement required.
• ANCC NPD specialty certification is preferred; if not possessed at time of hire, must acquire within two years.
• Minimum four (4) years of acute care nursing practice.
• Minimum three (3) years of Program management experience in an education role preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience as unit educator, system educator, NPD Specialist/Generalist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize tools, theories, skills and knowledge of nursing professional development.
• Improve evidence-based practice of nursing staff on the assigned unit/department(s).
• Lead learning facilitation, change agent roles and mentorship as needed.
• Collaborate with Center for Clinical Education & Professional Practice Development and clinical managers.
