Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Part-time Unit Associate II for the Zayed 8W Maternity unit in Baltimore. The role supports the Labor & Delivery/Perinatal Inpatient Unit with stocking, supply management, and coordination with nurses and unit coordinators.

It is a rotating shift, 32 hours per week, on site at Johns Hopkins. The position requires a High School Diploma, a current BLS card, and strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure safe, efficient patient care in a Level IV

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS card at the time of hire.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/urgent situations and to follow established procedures
• Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplies and procedures (highly preferred)
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
• General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Unit Associate II – Zayed 8W Maternity

Part time – Rotating shift – 32 hours.

The Unit Associate II is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include stocking items to WaveMark and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned.

Labor & Delivery/Perinatal Inpatient Unit, Zayed 8, includes six triage rooms, ten Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, 3 operating rooms, three Post-Anesthesia Care Beds (PACU), and over thirty inpatient beds for gynecologic services. You would care for pregnant undelivered women with high-risk maternal or fetal care requirements and low and high-risk delivered women (up to six weeks post-partum). The unit is one of only two Level IV Regional Perinatal Referral Centers for high-risk obstetrics in the State of Maryland and features a Fetal Therapy Program treating fetal conditions via intrauterine interventions throughout pregnancy.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.92/hour - Maximum 20.79/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
